Great Britain U16 fought bravely, lost to Switzerland in seventh-place game

The seventh-place game of the U16 offered an intriguing and close battle. The Swiss took an early lead thanks to Valentino Cioffo's fifth-minute strike, but the Brits equalized before the first intermission through captain George Mullan's long-range shot. Great Britain followed up on their goal after the break and gained the lead, but it would be the only time they would be up in the game. The Swiss quickly created a comfortable lead with three unanswered goals. The British U16 couldn't erase the margin and ultimately fell to Switzerland 6-3, despite a brave and well-fought performance.

COACHES´ REACTIONS

Vasco Rodriguez Soares (SUI): "We had to play with two lines. The boys played their hearts out and did what they had to do. In the third period, we discussed with the boys what to do and how to do it, and that brought us victory. Now we will all go home and have fond memories. Everything was good." Callum West (GBR): "From the beginning, we were determined to win. The Swiss team also performed very well. It was a long tournament for us, but as one team, we came together, and the boys delivered good performances."
