Mass skirmish after whistle! Emotional U18 game for Slovakia

Although Corson Maguire opened the scoring in the ninth minute, Samuel Sisík immediately equalized to send both teams into the locker rooms with a tied score. The Canadians regained the lead thanks to Lukas Hansen's strike, but it didn't last this time either as Patrik Vaverčák and Matej Zajac turned the game over. Despite being scoreless, the final period was arguably the most interesting. Emotions started flowing on both sides and the fans witnessed multiple hard hits. After the final whistle, it all went over the edge when a mass skirmish broke out, resulting in three misconducts, including one game misconduct for Lukas Hansen. That didn't change the score, however, which confirmed the 3-2 Slovak win.

COACHES´ REACTIONS

Ľubomír Líška (SVK): ¨It was an extremely close game. There were high danger chances on both sides, so we are happy we ended up winning even more. It was heated game, a lot of unnecessary penalties on both sides and few rumbles. But those are the mistakes we need to learn from.¨
