The Czechs established a two-goal advantage right from the start, putting the US team in a challenging position for the remainder of the game. In the second period, Czechia Red found the back of the net once more, but the Americans regained their momentum by capitalizing on one of their many power-play opportunities. However, this goal served as a wake-up call for the Czechs, who responded with two consecutive goals, securing their second victory in the tournament.

Vít Čapek (CZE): „I think we had a better start to the game than against Canada. In the second period, we lost our rhythm and played a chaotic style. We were going up and down, and they took advantage of it by outnumbering us frequently. This led to our mistakes, penalties, and power plays for them. We basically asked for it throughout the entire period, and eventually, they scored a goal. However, in the third period, we returned to the style of play that defines us and managed to pull through for a victory. The players deserve praise.“

Will Rennebeck (USA): „We were outplayed by a very strong team. We showed our best, but we deviated a bit from our game plan that we wanted to stick to. Tomorrow's game is extremely important for us. We need to make sure that the guys are mentally prepared and give everything on the field.“
