Slovakia U20 topped resilient Switzerland

Despite a tough defeat against Canada yesterday, the Slovak U20 players were able to lift their spirits. They didn't let Switzerland score a single goal and marched towards a comfortable 5-0 victory. Emotions were running high throughout the entire game, which culminated in some truly intense battles. The Slovaks made the most of the high tempo, being especially effective in finishing. Slovakia slowly built a comfortable lead, with two-point contributions from Tim Danielčák and Christián Badalov playing a significant role in the win.

COACHES´ REACTIONS

Michal Holaza (SVK) ¨After yesterdays loss, we wanted to win even more and we were successful doing that. Eventhough we had to kill much greater amount of penalties than we would have liked, we made for it by doing other things properly. But he US game is coming, and it that game that many penalties could drag us down. But tournament is still in the beginning and we make improvements and I am confident we will continue to do so.¨

Tobias Strahm (SUI) ¨To start on a positive note, it was a great improvement compared to yesterdays game. It was closer, we had some chances. The problem is we did not score again. That´s our biggest flaw. We are able to create chances, but we fail to finish them off. It is something we are working on and I believe it is gonna get better moving on.¨
