Slovakia U14 edged Czechia Red, win the tournament

After Michal Mareček and Martin Jordán put Czechia Red up by two early into the game, the Slovaks took the initiative. Fourteen seconds after Jordán's second goal, Patrik Šiška scored from a quick counter-attack, reducing the deficit, and just before the end of the first half, Peter Zamborský equalized. Šimon Drechsler then regained the lead for the Czechs, but the rest of the game was firmly in the Slovak hands. Alex Buc leveled the score, and after Oliver Mičian's successful breakaway, Slovakia stole the lead. Alex Buc then added his second with three minutes to go, scoring what would become the game-winner as the Czechs only managed to narrow the margin to one goal in the last minute. Their last-breath effort wasn't enough, and Slovakia can celebrate winning the U14 tournament.

COACHES´ REACTIONS

Head Coach of Slovakia: „Evaluation is very complicated today. The match was extremely tough, and we seemed somewhat tired throughout the game, but in the end, we managed it. We won the match and the entire tournament, which I view very positively."

Head Coach of Czechia Red: „We lost the match 4-5, but I have to say that we didn't give the Slovaks much space in the first half. We even had a two-goal lead, which unfortunately didn't work out for us. In the second half, it was up and down, the Slovaks started taking control of the game, and luckily it ended 3-4. Then we wanted to equalize, which we managed to do. Even though we pulled the goalie, unfortunately, the match ended 4-5. Congratulations to the Slovaks."
