Liberec to host World Junior Championships in two stages! U16, U20, and U23 categories to compete in the first session

The tournament will feature teams from Canada and the USA, making it a big draw for the entire event!

The two arenas that will host the tournament in Liberec are the Home Credit Arena and Svijanská Arena, which are primarily used by the ice hockey team from the top-tier Czech Ice Hockey League – Tipsport Extraliga. From June 28th to July 2nd, 2023, hockey ball players from around the world will compete for world championship titles in the categories of under 16, 20, and 23 years old. International teams from Canada, the USA, Great Britain, and Switzerland will participate in the event.

"I expect every team we play against to show us their absolute best. We expect every game to be a battle. Nothing will be easy, and we have instructed our players to prepare accordingly," said USA U-23 coach, Mike Malloy, adding, "Our ambition for the tournament is to play a disciplined team game. Our goal is to win a medal in Liberec. We want our players to be willing to sacrifice individual awards for team success." The Czech national team will also not be missing, as they aim for success on home soil. "I believe that all Czech teams will be well prepared," said Milan Marsner, head of the representative sections of the Czech-Moravian Ball Hockey Union CMSHb, who believes in their success. For example, the Czech under-20 team will defend their gold medals from the 2018 World Junior Championship in St. John's, Canada. The Czech teams excelled at the Alpa European Cup in preparation for this event! Players in the under 20 and 23 categories will want to shine as their teams are made up mainly of fighters who are currently trying to break through into the Czech hockey ball elite! In the under-16 category, we will see the youngest talents of the world ball hockey.
